Senior Engineer III (Job # 17-01135)
Fairfax County has a Senior Engineer III position open in our Watershed Projects Implementation Branch within the Stormwater Planning Division. This position will serve as senior engineer managing watershed restoration and other stormwater capital improvement projects from design through construction. Projects may include stream restoration, green stormwater infrastructure, pond retrofits, flood control/mitigation and other related water resources and environmental restoration projects. Supports the development of the stormwater capital improvement plan by prioritizing and field scoping potential projects in support of program goals and the Virginia Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit and related Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) requirements.
Collaborates with other agencies and partners to implement stormwater enhancements and retrofits on proposed and existing site developments. Manages neighborhood stormwater improvement projects that integrate green stormwater infrastructure and conventional conveyance systems to address drainage problems and improve water quality. Technical lead in the development and/or evaluation of design and construction standards, innovative stormwater management practices, and project management processes.
