The Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Chesapeake and Coastal Service, Center for Conservation Education and Stewardship (CES), is currently accepting applications for a (contractual) Conservation Education Specialist. The overall purpose of this position is to provide administrative, scientific and technical support to CES, in the context of developing, managing, and conducting science education programs and materials. The incumbent will conduct and expand environmental education programs for the Department that involve outdoor science investigations, including primarily the Explore and Restore Maryland Streams program working with K-12 schools on stream study and student action projects; programs engaging teachers and students in studying impacts of climate change on a variety of Maryland natural resources; programs related to wetlands and other coastal environments through the Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve – Maryland component sites; and other DNR education activities.
