Plexus Scientific Corporation is seeking a qualified individual to join our dynamic team of professionals supporting the Office of the Chief, Army Reserve located at Ft. Belvoir, VA.  The successful candidate will possess the following experience and skills.

 

Responsibilities, Areas of Experience, and Duties May Include:

  • Must be familiar with environmental, NEPA, sustainability, water, waste and/or energy regulations, policies, and executive orders
  • Work with the Environmental Advisor to develop the strategic vision and long-term planning for the Army Reserve Environmental Program
  • Work with the Environmental Advisor to develop environmental policies, templates and standard operating procedures
  • Work with the Environmental Advisor and the field to develop and implement actions identified in the Army Reserve Environmental Quality Strategy
  • Read, comprehend, and analyze environmental documents and recommend determinations/courses of action related to the environmental conditions of property prior to disposal.
  • Development and preparation of slide presentations for meetings, conferences and executive level briefings
  • Coordinate all weekly and monthly Environmental Team meetings
  • Provide logistics and planning support for environmental events, workshops, training programs and conferences

 

Education/Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Energy Policy, or related degree preferred
  • 5 – 7 years’ experience in environmental, energy, or sustainability policy or related field
  • Analytical skills a must! Must be able read documents, identify issues/areas of concern, and provide recommendations on course of action
  • Familiarity with ASTM E1527 and ASTM D6008 and/or Environmental Conditions of Property a plus
  • Experience with Army and/DoD preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team
  • Experience with strategic planning/visioning strongly preferred
  • Ability work in a high-paced environment with ever changing needs
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Experience working with the Suite of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Travel anticipated 6 – 10 times per year
