$52,749 annual salary (Grade C13) 40 exempt full time positions with full benefit packages

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides professional services related to water resources and geologic projects for Carroll County in accordance with federal, state and local laws, within the goals and objectives of the Department of Land and Resource Management.
ESSENTIAL TASKS: include the following;
1. May perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the current Carroll County Personnel Ordinance, County policies and applicable laws
2. Prepare and maintain schedule, statistical tables and reports
3. Provide technical project leadership, participate in work groups and attend public meetings
4. Apply principles, practices, laws and regulations related to geologic/geotechnical investigations, water resources management/development, planning, zoning, and surveying
5. Interpret and analyze data
6. Work with Board of County Commissioners and state/local/municipal agencies in water resources issues and projects
7. Address issues and complaints
8. Perform related duties as to specific assignments
9. Any employee may be identified as Essential Personnel during emergency situations
10. Provide service to customers by answering questions, providing information, making referrals, and assuring appropriate follow-through and/or resolution
11. Communicate with managers, supervisors, co-workers, citizens, and others, maintains confidentiality, and represents the County
1. Master’s degree in geology, hydrology, engineering geology, earth science or related field*
2. Two years experience as ground water geologist or hydrogeologist in piedmont geology OR
3. Bachelor’s degree in geology, earth science or related field*
4. Four years professional experience in water resource management
A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
