Connection between Health, Environment and Social Change call for conference proposals
University of South Florida Social Marketing Conference 2018
Call for Abstracts due March 6, 2018
Interest in this roundtable session due early February 2018
Visit this site for more information – https://thesocialmarketingconference.org/
I am curating a roundtable session at the upcoming conference on Friday, June 29 in Clearwater Beach, FL to show the connection between health, environment and social change. Topics such as air quality, water quality, food security, emergency preparedness, conservation, vector-borne illnesses, etc. are of interest. Roundtable presenters need not only work at the intersection of health and environment but must have a social and behavior change campaign to highlight.
Reviewers favor abstracts on completed projects that clearly illustrate key elements of the social marketing approach:
How formative research is used to make marketing decisions;
Description of audience segmentation methods and results,
Evaluations of comprehensive marketing programs.
See more details attached.

Do you have 10 minutes to help with my graduate thesis?
I am working towards a master’s in public health online through the University of South Florida.
I am asking for your help with my thesis. To graduate I am conducting a survey and subsequent activity to be done around the holidays. The purpose of the survey is to explore the attitudes, barriers, and benefits associated with experiential gift giving and it should only take 8-10 minutes to complete. You can start it here – https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NDBBAAFF. Please feel free to share this survey with others.
Once you complete the survey please consider visiting this page (also linked in the survey thank you page) which discusses the activity – https://newdream.org/simplify-the-holidays-pledge. This activity will only take another 2 minutes.
For more detail about my project you can read this blog post here – https://newdream.org/blog/what-would-it-take-to-shift-our-gifting-away-from-stuff?
If you or your organization is interested in helping to promote these topics (decreasing consumption, increasing happiness, spending more time in nature and with family and friends, etc.) please reach out. I can provide you with sample social media posts, newsletter content or we can discuss a larger partnership. The campaign is being conducted pro-bono with no funding so any in-kind support is greatly appreciated.

Focus Group Attendees Requested – Southern MD
As part of my Master’s in Public Health thesis with the University of South Florida, I volunteer with an organization called New Dream. New Dream is holding small community gatherings (8-10 people) to hear thoughts on gift giving, gift receiving and shopping. The information shared will help New Dream build a winter holiday gift campaign.
We are conducting multiple focus groups, however, funding to pay participants isn’t available so we need your help to find attendees.
Interested participants in southern Maryland can find more information here on Facebook. Know someone in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area? They can participate too. Direct them here for more information. We are also holding one in Arlington, VA. If you know someone there that would want to participate direct them here.
You can register through Facebook or email me directly. After receiving an RSVP I will contact you with a short questionnaire and confirm participation.
Thank you for your help. Please pass this along to those that might be interested.

Hey... where's the rest?
As we transfer data from the old platform to the new one, we're taking baby steps. If it seems like something is missing, we'll likely be added it over the next few weeks. If you need something in particular, feel free to ask.
