The Virginia Natural Leadership Institute (VNRLI) is accepting applications for
the 2010-2011 session workshops: six three-day learning sessions offered
approximately two months apart - starting in September 2010 and ending in June
2011. We offer each session in a different location in Virginia and focus on a set of natural
resource issues of interest to citizens in that particular location. However,
the underlying Institute theme across all sessions is to develop leaders who can
help groups involved in contentious natural resources issues move beyond
conflict toward consensus building and collaborative problem solving.
VNRLI graduates include professionals in a wide range of roles and
environmental areas of focus. Alumni involvement in collaborative efforts
includes local, state and federal government, business and the nonprofit
sector. Alumni agree that the VNRLI experience has made them better able to
resolve conflicts and develop mutually agreeable solutions. They report that
they have improved opportunities for conflict resolution within their work
environment, and many strongly agreed that their conflict management skills
have improved as result of their involvement in VNRLI.
If you are interested in becoming a VNRLI Fellow, please visit our website: http://www.virginia.edu/ien/vnrli/index.html for
