Chesapeake Conservation Corps Seeks Host Sites for 2017-2018 Class

The Chesapeake Bay Trust is proud to announce solicitations for Host Organizations for the 2017-18 Chesapeake Conservation Corps, a program that provides hands-on environmental, leadership and green job training opportunities for young adults through environmental and energy conservation projects. This initiative, supported by the Trust, Constellation Energy, the National Park Service and the state of Maryland, places young adults with nonprofit or government agencies to work fulltime in the environmental field for a one-year term of service.

The Chesapeake Bay Trust anticipates placing 30-35 Corps Members at Host Organizations throughout the Bay region, with service to begin August 22, 2017. Individuals will be between the ages of 18 and 25 years at the time of enrollment. Corps Members will receive stipends of $17,000 per year administered by the Trust.

Applications to serve as Host Organizations will include proposed scopes of work which include a range of activities to be undertaken by the Corps Member in the fields of environmental restoration, energy conservation, sustainable agriculture, community engagement, forestry, and/or K-12 environmental education.

Please read the application package here. All applications must be submitted through our online system by March 10, 2017 at 5:00 pm. Access to the online application can be found on the Corps page of our website.
