The Baltimore Ecosystem Study, a Long-Term Ecological Research Site funded by the National Science Foundation, invites middle and high school students in the Baltimore region to participate in the 2017 Baltimore Data Jam Competition, an art and science competition that challenges students to explain a local socio-ecological data set to a non-scientist audience.  Participants in the Data Jam select a local data set, complete a scientific report and create an artistic project. A panel of judges scores each project and awards are given to 1st-3rd place projects.  Middle and High school projects judged separately. Please help us spread the word to local educators and student mentors.

Important Dates:

  • All teams must be registered by April 28, 2017
