Thinking about becoming a Green School? Interested in learning about PLT’s Carbon and Climate e-unit? The Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education (MAEOE) is holding a workshop at Bar-T Mountainside in Frederick, Maryland on November 8th, space is limited.

During the morning, educators will learn about the MAEOE MD Green School program and will take home tips and tricks for a successful application. After lunch, instructors will model lessons from Project Learning Tree’s E-Unit, Carbon and Climate. The e-unit is aligned with NGSS standards and is organized around the 5E Instructional Model, which fosters science learning through a planned sequence of instruction. The e-unit is geared towards 6-8 grade standards, however, the e-units include resources for customizing the lessons for younger (fifth grade) or older (high school) students. Educators will take home the online materials, plus local connections to the bay region.
