The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Chesapeake Bay Program Office (CBPO) is announcing a request for proposals (RFP) for supporting both the:
1. Small Watershed Grants (SWG) program; and
2. Innovative Nutrient and Sediment Reduction (INSR) grants program.
The SWG program promotes community-based efforts to develop conservation strategies to protect and restore the diverse natural resources of the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed.
The INSR grants program supports efforts within the Chesapeake Bay watershed that will vastly accelerate sub-watershed and/or regional scale implementation of nutrient and sediment reductions with innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective approaches.
Applicants may apply for either or both activities. Applicants must submit a separate application for each activity if they apply for both. Applicants cannot submit more than one application per activity.
FUNDING/AWARDS: it is expected that grant awards may be issued for up to a six-year project period beginning June 1, 2018.
EPA plans to award one cooperative agreement for each activity under this RFP.
The total estimated funding for six years for supporting the SWG program is approximately $30,000,000 to $60,000,000, with an estimated $5,000,000 to $10,000,000 available for the first year and each additional year though there is no guarantee of funding throughout this period or beyond.
The total estimated funding for six years for supporting the INSR grants program is also approximately $30,000,000 to $60,000,000, with an estimated $5,000,000 to $10,000,000 available for the first year and each additional year though there is no guarantee of funding throughout this period or beyond.
