Maryland Climate Leadership Academy
Announces First Programs


The Maryland Climate Leadership Academy is the nation’s first state-sponsored institution providing continuing education and executive training programs specifically designed for business leaders, government officials and infrastructure executives.

Established in June 2018 by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, in partnership with the Association of Climate Change Officers, the Maryland Climate Leadership Academy will be a catalyst for bold climate change action in the private and public sectors by advancing competencies in integrating climate change into decision-making across industries and occupations. Read more.

Certified Climate Change Professional Series

A series of in-person courses supplemented by online self-study designed to prepare participants to earn the Certified Climate Change Professional credential. Initial classes offered at venues throughout the state. Enrollment open now!

Executive Certificate Programs

Beginning in 2019, the Maryland Climate Leadership Academy will offer a suite of certificate programs in areas such as “Clean Energy Procurement,” and “Climate Leadership and Entrepreneurship.”

Program dates and enrollment to be announced in November!

Primers and Workshops

A wide range of individually developed programs – half-day and one-day programs – conducted across the State of Maryland starting in 2019.

Some will be embedded in broader conferences and meetings hosted by third-party organizations.
