The Chesapeake Bay Trust is proud to announce solicitations for Host Organizations for the 2019-20 Chesapeake Conservation Corps. Each year this initiative, supported by the Trust, state of Maryland, National Park Service, and BGE an Exelon Company, places young adults (ages 18-25) with nonprofit and government agencies to work fulltime in the environmental field for a one-year term of paid service in the Chesapeake Bay region. The Corps Members receive hands-on green job and leadership experience through on-the-ground experience managing projects and programs for their host sites, extensive trainings hosted by the Trust, and other service-learning opportunities including grant writing and networking.

The Chesapeake Bay Trust anticipates placing 35-40 Corps Members at Host Organizations throughout the Chesapeake Bay, with service to begin August 20, 2019. Corps Members will receive an annual living stipend of $18,500 by the Trust.

Applications to serve as Host Organizations will include proposed scopes of work which include a range of responsibilities and activities to be undertaken by the Corps Member in the fields of environmental restoration, energy conservation, sustainable agriculture, community engagement, forestry, and/or K-12 environmental education.

Please read the application package here. All applications must be submitted through our online system by February 19, 2019 at 4:00 pm. Access to the online application can be found on the Corps page of our website.
