The 2021 bare-root seedling sale features small shrubs and trees native to Virginia which are hardy in small spaces and bear gorgeous flowers and fruits, and display beautiful colors.

Purchase your seedling packages online, at: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/soil-water-conservation/native-seedling-sale

This program is offered in partnership with the Virginia Department of Forestry’s Potomac Work Area and Fairfax County’s Urban Forestry Management Division.

In addition, the Virginia Department of Forestry needs help in counting all of the trees and shrubs planted through our sale, as well as other trees planted over the next four years.  Every tree makes a difference in protecting and improving water quality.  Residents may add their planted trees to the My Tree Counts app:  https://arcg.is/WryDG.  On this app, residents can report their tree and shrub plantings made since October 1, 2020, read about other tree planting projects in Virginia, and learn why trees are so good at protecting water quality.
