The Chesapeake Bay Trust (Trust), as part of their Diversity and Inclusion Initiative, seeks qualified contractors to increase awareness of and engagement in the District of Columbia Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) Community Stormwater Solutions Grant Program with under-engaged audiences and organizations.

The goals of the Community Stormwater Solutions Grant Program are to protect and enhance, directly or indirectly, the District of Columbia’s water bodies or watersheds. The program partners, the Trust and DOEE, understand that the improvement of the DC’s community spaces and waterbodies requires a broad range of communities engaging with and investing in their natural resources. The success of these efforts will require increased outreach, capacity building, and a willingness to listen to and understand the values and specific concerns of a diversity of communities and those whose missions are not predominately environmentally focused. Thus, the Trust seeks applications to the Outreach Services Request for Proposals (RFP), found here.

This bidder opportunity is open until Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 6:00 PM EST. The scope of work, as described RFP, includes:

  • program advertisement to organizations or small businesses located in DC new to the grant program and whose mission is not primarily environmentally focused,
  • translation of the funding partnership’s goals into messages best received by these audiences,
  • technical assistance for new applicants to navigate the online application process and facilitate the submission of least four (4) applications to the Community Stormwater Solutions Grant Program.
