NPS Chesapeake Bay is looking for artists to join a project promoting art and science in the Chesapeake Bay.
Current Chesapeake Conservation Corps member, Christopher Orozco-Fletcher, is hoping to work with artists around the Chesapeake Bay watershed and curate a zine inclusive of art related to current Chesapeake Bay topics or themes including: climate change, conservation, pollution, etc. When the zine is completed, it is our hope that it could be distributed through the Chesapeake Roving Ranger program run by the National Park Service and Chesapeake Conservancy. The Chesapeake Roving Ranger is a mobile visitor center which travels around the region, delivering interpretation and outreach on Chesapeake Bay topics, and passing out zines featuring your artwork would be added to our suite of brochures and handouts.
When creating and/or submitting artwork, keep in mind that this will be distributed to a wide variety of audiences across the bay watershed. If you’re interested in participating and/or know of other artists or have any further questions, please reach out to them via email at corozcofletch@gmail.com. Thank you and we look forward to hearing back from you!
