The Chesapeake Bay Trust, in partnership with the District of Columbia Department of Energy and the Environment (DOEE) and the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) is excited to announce the opening of the Ditch the Disposables: Awards to Reduce Waste program!

The goals of this Request for Applications (RFA) are to support food serving entities, School Food Authorities (SFAs), and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) that support school food in the District of Columbia in food, food packaging, and food waste. This program supports four project areas, and applications may request funds of up to $25,000 to support one or multiple project areas.
A: Dishes and dishwashing for on-site dining
B: Third-party reusable foodware program
C: Reusable foodware for takeout, handled in house
D: Food waste reduction – only open to SFAs and CBOs supporting schools
