To encourage conversations, literacy, and learning opportunities focused on climate change, the Maryland Commission on Climate Change is promoting The Worldwide Climate Teach-In on or around March, 29, 2023 to help kick off Earth Month.  The goal is to encourage students and educators to talk about climate change, its impacts on our lives, and actions we can take to reduce our carbon footprints and climate pollution.

A teach-in can take many forms, many of which can be easily integrated into existing class curricula without significant preparation. Models range from short 15-minute class/group discussions to interactive learning to formal 3-hour all-school events. Resources are available for all levels of education.

Check out general and Maryland-specific ideas and links on this site:   MCCC Maryland Climate Teach-In Resource Page

During Earth Month, the Commission on Climate Change will recognize registered groups who have participated. Please register by taking the pledge at the website. We hope you will share this information widely with your colleagues, peers, and networks in Maryland.
