Join us in cooling and beautifying outdoor spaces by planting trees! WSA aims to plant 100 trees at congregations in Anne Arundel County and the City of Annapolis through our RePlant program this fall season. We’re looking for 10 congregations to plant 10 trees each to help meet this goal.*
Why Plant Trees? Trees help:
- Improve air quality by removing pollution.
- Prevent flooding and erosion.
- Combat climate change as they absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen.
- Cool neighborhoods by providing shade to parks, sidewalks, and yards.
- Provide habitat for local wildlife.
- Enhance the beauty of your surroundings.
How to Get Involved
WSA staff and volunteers are ready to help you select and plant low-cost trees that are suitable for your outdoor spaces! Our fall planting season runs from September to December 2024, and planning starts now! Trees are 4-6 feet upon planting and come with mulch and deer protection. *There is no minimum tree order, and even planting just one tree can help make a long-lasting impact on your community!

If your congregation is interested in learning more, please contact WSA’s Restoration Coordinator, Faith Waaramaa, at faith@aawsa.org to get started. You can also browse our Resilient Tree Species Manual on our website, to see the tree species we offer.
Note: All planting sites must be within Anne Arundel County. If you would be interested in volunteering with WSA, or planting trees at a non-congregational site, please learn more here. We often plant at private residences, libraries, schools, and we’d love to help you RePlant your outdoor spaces!
