We are excited to share that applications are officially open for the 2026 cohort of the Young Professionals of the Chesapeake (YPC) Mentorship Program!
Earlier this year, the future of YPC was uncertain due to funding challenges. Thanks to the incredible generosity of friends, members, and past participants, we successfully raised the funds needed to continue this program for another year. We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated, shared our campaign, and championed YPC’s mission. Your support ensures we can continue investing in the next generation of environmental leaders.
Program Overview
Running from January to December 2026, YPC supports early career professionals in the environmental field by providing mentorship, professional development, and a strong peer network. The program addresses workforce gaps in the Chesapeake Bay restoration movement while tackling structural barriers that often limit retention for young professionals.
Now entering its tenth year, YPC offers:
• Tailored mentorship matched to participants’ goals and interests
• Cohort-informed trainings and skill-building workshops
• Leadership development for both mentees and mentors
• A growing network of diverse clean water advocates across the region
This program is free to participate in and open to professionals across the Chesapeake Bay watershed—whether or not they are part of a Choose Clean Water Coalition member organization.
