Southern Maryland Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) is working with Maryland Department of Natural Resource’s Forest Service (the Department) to provide afforestation and maintenance services across the Southern Maryland region in support of the “5 Million Trees for Maryland” initiative to plant 5,000,000 trees across the State by 2031.
This Spring, RC&D is seeking qualified contractor(s) to prepare, install, and maintain afforested areas across Southern Maryland. The scope of work detailing current site conditions, maps, planting plans, planting and maintenance requirements, necessary materials, and required schedules are included as appendices in the bid package. Please be sure to read these thoroughly before submitting your costs.
Summary of the work being requested:
- Native Tree Planting – site preparation and installation of
- 30,990 trees at Newtowne Neck State Park and
- 6,615 trees at Greenwell State Park
- Tree Planting Site Maintenance – 2 mowing, 2 spraying events, and tree shelter maintenance for
- 30,990 trees at Newtowne Neck State Park and
- 6,615 trees at Greenwell State Park (B) and 7,105 trees at Greenwell State Park (A) and
- 14,300 trees at Chapel Point State Park
