The Chesapeake Bay Trust, in partnership with Prince George’s County Department of the Environment, is accepting applications for the Prince George’s County Community Gardens Mini Grant Program. The program supports the creation and expansion of community gardens. Eligible grant expenses include seeds and plants, materials for garden beds, soil/compost, rain barrels, and more. The goal of the program is to address food security within the County and support neighborhood scale implementation of regenerative agriculture and other sustainable gardening practices. Deadline: applications are accepted on a rolling basis; however, we are encouraging applications to be submitted by 6/1/2026

Eligible project locations: Prince George’s County, excluding the City of Bowie. Reach out early if you have a project idea!

Eligible applicants: non-profit organizations, municipalities, watershed organizations, community and homeowners associations, faith-based organizations, and more

Funding Available: up to $9,500 can be awarded depending on the size of the garden being created.
