On behalf of Creation Justice Ministries and Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake, we invite you to take part in a free tree planting and care program for eligible congregations and faith organizations in low tree canopy neighborhoods in Baltimore. Trees bring cooling, health, and beauty to our communities yet not everyone experiences these benefits. The Branches of Faith program offers:
- Free trees and funding to support tree care for your congregation, faith center, office, school, or other grounds
- A tailored plan for planting and tree care on your grounds
- A community engagement stipend of $1,500 to support your planting day and take part in two community tree planning workshops.
Churches are asked to: provide approval of their tree planting plan; attendance at two community tree planning workshops (with 2+staff/members on Sat. Aug. 22 and Sat. Sept. 26); host a planting day; and provide tree care for the first two years ($150/tree stipend provided + instructions).
