The Overnight Environmental Educator will plan, lead, and implement an evening program including campfire with overnight students participating in the Hard Bargain Farm Education program. They will be responsible for the general safety of the students during the time they are with the students.  They will provide high quality educational and recreational experiences for the students that focus on the mission of the Foundation.

Work is done outside in natural, rustic surroundings as well as inside the Cafritz Environmental Center from late afternoon to early morning on assigned days. This position requires staying overnight on the campus.  A sleeping accommodation, separate from the students, for the individual is provided with amenities (bathroom, kitchen, central heating, air conditioning).

I.                    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Primary Role(s):  

  • Organize and lead an evening program and or campfire activities.
    • Prepare and serve meals to program participants
    • Lead environmental education programming using the natural surroundings including leading a campfire program
    • Maintain the kitchen and facilities for organization and cleanliness
    • Assist teachers and students with breakfast and getting prepared for the daytime activities.
    • Maintain safety of program participants

 

Secondary Role(s):

  • Assist with other AFF activities
    • Participate in AFF-sponsored events as needed.
    • Participate in staff development, including staff meetings and trainings.
