Unity Gardens seeks a part-time Executive Director for its Anne Arundel County based nonprofit organization. Unity Gardens funds about 30 local volunteer groups each year through its conservation landscaping grant program. The Executive Director works with a volunteer Board of Directors to administer this program, as well as communicate with grantees, local residents, and other nonprofits about the value of native trees, shrubs, and plants.

A successful candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, creative ideas about how to build relationships in local communities, experience with a variety of software platforms, and knowledge of or interest in solving localized environmental problems using the power of native plants.

This position is 10 hours per week and offers flexible hours and the ability to work from home. The Executive Director must be available for periodic in-person meetings in or near Annapolis, Maryland. A familiarity with regional native plants and an understanding of local geography is important to this position.

Compensation is $11,500 annually. The organization is urgently hiring. The position will be open until filled.
