The Chesapeake Bay Trust is seeking qualified contractors to provide three years of maintenance to a subset of trees planted by grantees awarded through the Urban Trees Grant Program in fall 2023. All trees were planted between 9/1/2023 and 12/31/2023 and all grantees in the program were required to provide maintenance meeting minimum requirements for two years post-planting. The contractor(s) selected through this Request for Proposals (RFP) will provide an additional three years of maintenance to support tree health and survival.

The Urban Trees Grant Program was called for by the Maryland General Assembly as a component of a 5,000,000-tree goal by 2031. The goal of the Urban Trees Grant Program is to green communities; enhance quality of life, human health, and community livability by improving air quality, and reducing urban heat island effect; and mitigate some of the effects of climate change by planting 500,000 trees in urban, underserved areas.
