Join the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay and the DC Department of Energy & Environment for the 2026 RiverSmart Homes Showcase on Saturday, September 26 from 10:00am to noon at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church (rear parking lot), located at 4625 G Street, SE, Washington, DC 20019 in DC’s Ward 7.
- Sign up for RiverSmart Homes, talk to conservation landscaping experts, and get help maintaining your existing green infrastructure.
- Community partners will be on hand to share resources for managing invasive plants and vines, caring for our tree canopy, reducing litter, and attracting more pollinators to your yard.
- There will be native plant and native tree giveaways, free gardening tools (while supplies last), and children’s activities.
- Come and see how Jones Memorial utilizes green infrastructure (a rain garden, cistern, shade trees, and conservation landscaping) to mitigate flooding, increase natural habitat, cool the air, and beautify their property.
