Join us at Serenity Ridge Nature Preserve and Arboretum on Sunday, November 15th from 12-4pm to learn about tree maintenance at home and to help care for the young trees on our property. Come for 1 hour or stay the whole time.
Keith Cotter, of Chesapeake Tree & Outdoor Services—a licensed arborist with the state of Maryland and a member of the Tree Care Industry Association—will host a tree maintenance workshop at the beginning of our Volunteer Tree Maintenance event. He has more than 40 years of experience and knowledge in the tree care industry. As a licensed arborist he attends up-to-date, informative tree care & safety classes and will share his knowledge and answer your tree care questions at this workshop.
Serenity Ridge also requests volunteers to help maintain around 200 trees. For each tree we will be taking off deer cages, weeding around the base of trees, removing invasive species around the trees, pruning dead branches, mulching the bases, and then putting deer cages around each tree. We will also remove dead trees. Students can receive Service Learning hours.
