New Article: So Much Depends on a Tree Guard

Read Kim Martineau’s report on a new study by researchers at Columbia University published in the journal Ecological Engineering. Researchers found tree pits protected by tree guards absorbed water six times faster on average than unprotected tree pits.

$1M in New Conservation Incentives Available for Virginia Counties in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed

Announcement from the Farm Service Agency regarding a new conservation incentive, the Chesapeake Bay Incentive Payment (CBIP), available for Virginia Counties in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. New and re-enrolling riparian forest buffer contracts under the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program are eligible for a one time CBIP of $100 to $300 per acre to eligible producers….
