Battersea on the Bay backs onto Broad Creek and from our early cleanup in 1994 as where we pulled 120 tires from the Creek, until 2024, the Community has been invested in protecting the environment and enjoying the beauty of the river.  On April 6th we will hold our Annual Clean Up for the Battersea on the Bay Community with support from local businesses.  We are reaching out to local schools, including Oxon Hill High School, Friendly High School and the newly opened Colin Powell MS to encourage students to get their community hours learning about the environment and the importance of Project Clean Stream.  The cleanup is from 9:00am to Noon, rain or shine, with food provided after including a talk by one of our LEED Certified participants.

This is our first cleanup since COVID, so it will be a great chance for the neighbors to get together and enjoy exercise and friendships.  All are welcome, there are many roles that can be accommodated, from the comfort of the registration table to knee deep in the mud pulling tires, a role for everyone, young and old, pets welcome!

We will start setting up early at the cul-de-sac at 10602 Cannonview Court, Fort Washington MD 20744

We will have supplies including a good number of wellington boots of various sizes – however dress for the mud!
