We will be kicking off The High 5 Initiative Cleanup season again to celebrate Earth Day for our 5th Annual Earth Day Kayak Cleanup at North East River! We need walkers, waders and paddlers to help clean up North East Community Park and the surrounding area.
We have limited FREE KAYAKS available so please bring your own kayak or canoe if you have one to allow those that do not normally have access a chance to join us. If a kayak is needed, great news NO CREDIT CARDS NEEDED this year as the High 5 Initiative has rented them in advance for volunteers. They will be on a first come, first serve basis and need to be reserved in advance by emailing Briana@TheHigh5Initiative.com in addition to registering with Project Clean Stream.
Volunteers will be meeting at NORTH EAST COMMUNITY PARK at the Levy Pavilion, the one closest to the launch and past the playground, to sign in and hand out supplies, such as gloves, bags and pickers; as well as snacks and water, though we do encourage you to bring your own refillable water bottle. We are pretty excited to have this area reserved to give volunteers a place to sit and provide cover. The High 5 Initiative is also going to supply donuts from Chesapeake Bay Coffee Company to give everyone a little energy, so please register whether you need a kayak or not so we have enough for everyone!
The address provided is to the Upper Bay Museum at the park.
