Join the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay on Saturday, September 13th at 9am for a Project Clean Stream kick-off event! This season we will be cleaning up Stone Ledge Park & the Jackson Heights neighborhood in York, PA.
What is provided: Gloves, trash bags, & some light snacks.
What to bring: Plan to get dirty and possibly wet. We will try to go into some thicker brush to pull out trash, so if you’re interested in helping with that task, dress for full protection. Each volunteer is recommended to bring a full water bottle, sturdy walking shoes (closed-toed preferred), long pants, sun protection, & bug spray for themselves.
Parking: There is a small parking area at the park, as well as some street parking.
Weather policy: We are rain or shine! If weather is too extreme (i.e. thunderstorms), we will notify registered volunteers of a cancelation.
Other information: Children are more than welcome to attend with their guardians. There are no bathrooms at this location. Registered attendees will receive a confirmation email on the week of September 8th, including a few reminders for the event. Please note you will be asked to sign a volunteer waiver on-site. If you have any questions, please reach out to Cathleen Anthony at canthony@allianceforthebay.org.
