Citizen science uses the power of local communities and citizens to answer questions about the world around us. The Izaak Walton League of America is connecting Americans across the country to paint a picture of national stream health. Join us and discover two of our citizen science programs: Stream Selfie and Creek Critters!

You’ll learn about citizen science and how Stream Selfie and Creek Critters teach us about water quality and stream health. Then we’ll head out into the stream to try out your new critter identification and selfie skills.

Be sure to wear shoes that can get wet, and dress for the weather. Water monitoring supplies will be provided – all you need is a camera or smartphone!
