Community Organizing Remotely Shared Stories Part II
Calling all organizers! As a follow up to our successful Organizing Remotely Roundtable back in April, River Network is hosting a 2nd Roundtable. We welcome all outreach coordinators, community organizers, and community engagement staff from across our network and the Urban Waters Learning Network. Join River Network staff and fellow community organizers for a facilitated conversation to share your stories and experiences with the challenges and opportunities of doing community organizing during COVID-19, the uncertainty around what will be open and permitted in the fall, and connect with other organizers facing similar challenges around the country.

Planning Virtual Meetings and Conferences
Connecting people is a key element of how River Network and groups across our Network carry out our missions. And yet, COVID-19 has forced many of us to move our long-planned meetings and conferences to a virtual space. River Network and members of our network are on a steep learning curve to figure out how to plan and host digital events that are inclusive, engaging and impactful. Join River Network staff as we share our experience in planning and hosting Virtual River Rally 2020, a 3-week long virtual conference that attracted over 500 participants, and bring your own insights of what’s worked for you when hosting or participating in similar events.

Advancing Racial Justice
In light of recent events, River Network would like to create space for conversation, co-learning and action on the issue of racial injustice and anti-Blackness permeating our society and structures. River Network has a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in our work and recognize that this must include an express commitment to racial justice. Please join us for an open discussion on the role of racial justice in our movement and beyond. This discussion will be the first step to creating a space that benefits our network in working toward racial justice and create a path forward toward learning and action.
