The Anacostia Watershed Society is a nonprofit organization in Washington, DC whose mission is to protect and restore the Anacostia River by bringing partners and communities together to achieve a clean and safe Anacostia River for all. The AWS Trash Trap program collects, sorts, and measures trash flowing down the Anacostia in order to plan for advocacy goals. In conjunction with community clean-up and outreach events that reach thousands of local residents, AWS is working to protect and restore this incredible river.
