Designed for wetland professionals to improve vegetation identification skills, Environmental Concern’s three-day Basic Vascular Plant ID field course will focus on vascular wetland plant identification. Emphasis will be placed on key field characteristics of select vascular plant families. Instructor-led and group keying will teach the necessary skills for field identification of wetland indicator species as the course participants visit a variety of wetland habitats on the Eastern Shore.

The summer months on Environmental Concern’s campus offer course participants the unique opportunity to explore 4 constructed wetlands, and over 70 species of native plants and animals. Observe turtles, frogs, song birds and waterfowl thriving in their natural habitat.

EC is located in historic St. Michaels along the St. Michael’s Nature Trail. Walk to one of the local restaurants for dinner, or enjoy the tranquil environment as you walk along the 1.3 mile trail.
