Do you want to help uncover the mysteries of stream pollution? Join Arundel Rivers Federation’s rapid mobilization stream team!

Together, we will collect water samples simultaneously at several Annapolis streams during rain events in order to evaluate nutrient and sediment pollution.

Each sampling event will only take an hour or two, but will likely be planned only a couple of days prior as a result of the weather.  If you can only come for one of the sampling events, that would still be incredibly helpful in our research (in partnership with the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center)!

Results from this exercise will ultimately help to inform us on how to direct our focus to better reduce and treat polluted runoff.

If you are interested in volunteering for this science expedition, have a flexible schedule, and are unfazed by hiking in the rain, join us on October 11th at 10am for a brief training and orientation (RSVP for exact location). Email sarahg@arundelrivers.org for more information!
