Scope of Presentation

Donna will provide an introduction to the Spa Creek Conservancy and its efforts to restore Spa Creek, explaining their most significant projects including the ravine repair at Chesapeake Children’s Museum, the headwaters stream retrofit and habitat restoration, the Hawkins Cove Project. She will discuss sponsors and community partners for each of these restoration projects and the impact of investments in the local environment and explore the paths forward.

About the Presenter

Donna Jefferson is the president and founder of Jefferson Communications. She has served as president of the board of directors of the Parenting Media Association (PMA), YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County and an advisory member for Annapolis Recreation and Parks. Jefferson has been recognized with numerous awards including Maryland’s Top 100 Minority Business Enterprises and 2013 PMA Distinguished Publisher. Jefferson’s family has lived on Spa Creek for nearly 100 years. Using her digital marketing experience Jefferson has made it a priority to educate and inform people living in the Spa Creek watershed about the necessity of and progress made on restoring the creek.
