Join Friends of the Rappahannock River Steward Captain Richard Moncure on a guided tour of the Rappahannock River in Stafford County, Spotsylvania County, and City of Fredericksburg.

Our River Steward Boat will leave from City Dock Park off Sophia Street in Downtown Fredericksburg and travel down river to enjoy the serenity of the Rappahannock. We will discuss fish and wildlife of the region, tree and plant identification, the historical significance of the Rappahannock, and learn about ways we can all help to protect clean water for fishing, swimming, paddling, drinking water, and more. This is a great way to learn about the Rappahannock River and ways to get involved. Average trip length is 30 minutes.

Reservations are required. Each trip can handle a max of 6 people. Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled trip time.

All participants are required to sign a WAIVER and wear a life jacket provided by FOR. Minimum age is 6 years old. Anyone under 18 must have a signed waiver by parent or guardian.

Thanks to support from the Stafford County Public Works Department, these trips are free for Stafford County residents and businesses. This trip is also free for all active FOR members.

Non-Stafford County residents may participate for $5, but must contact JoEllen Santulli to register: joellen.santulli@riverfriends.org
