I wanted to share the first of a series of four talks that will be occurring at Carrie Murray Nature Center, located at 1901 Ridgetop Road, Baltimore, MD 21207.
Urban ecology: Why study nature in cities?
Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 7 pm
When most people think of ecology and wildlife research, they think of studies done in remote forest, mountains, or deserts. But did you know that research breakthroughs have been made in cities and neighborhoods just like yours? Naturalist educator Ela-Sita Carpenter will talk about the history of urban ecology, why it’s important, and discuss some of her research with birds and bats in Baltimore.
