Maryland Water Monitoring Council – 23rd Annual Conference
There’s still plenty of time to catch the early-bird registration fee for The Maryland Water Monitoring Council’s 23rd Annual Conference at the Maritime Institute, North Linthicum, Maryland, on Friday, December 8, 2017. The theme of this year’s conference is Managing Water Quality in a Changing World. A draft agenda and other conference details are available on the conference webpage. Newly-added sessions include Managing Maryland Lakes in a Changing World, Data to Decisions, and Opportunity of the Commons: Defining Maryland’s Ocean & Coastal Future.
The conference will include a plenary session, six concurrent breakout sessions, posters, exhibitor tables, plenty of snacks, and, of course, the famous Maritime Institute all-you-can-eat buffet lunch. You’ll also have plenty of time to network and catch up with old friends and colleagues during the long breaks.
Early registration ends November 17 and the deadline for abstract submission (oral and poster presentations) is October 20.
Calling all Students! The 6th MWMC Student Poster Award will be offered this year and is open to junior high, high school and college undergraduate students. Winners will be awarded $200 for first place and $100 for second place. Click HERE for information and poster scoring criteria.
We’re bringing back the Student-Professional Networking Session in 2017. This one-hour session (3:30 – 4:30 PM) is a great opportunity for high school and undergraduate students to interact with professionals in the fields of aquatic ecology, watershed science, integrated management, science communication, and more! The session is FREE and is included with each student conference registration.
