Watersheds explained…how it’s all connected: Do you know how many square miles the Chesapeake Bay’s watershed is? Or how many states are within its boundaries? Come join naturalist Missy Lauterbach in exploring the beautiful, marshy waterways of Dundee Creek, one of the prettiest tributaries and learn about how this wonderful watershed works!
No canoe, no experience…no problem! The Natural History Society of Maryland has a fleet of canoes that is ready to launch. We will supply the canoes, paddles, and PFD’s (life jackets). We’ll also provide some basic paddling instruction at the beginning of the trip.
LIMIT: 8 Canoes: 16 seats available. Participants must be a minimum of 8 years old. Youth ages 8-12 years old may sit in the center of their supervising adult’s canoe. An adult must accompany participants under the age of 18. A maximum of two children per adult is allowed on our canoe programs. If you are coming by yourself there is the possibility you will be paired up with another individual in a canoe. *No personal canoes.
Because we have a limited number of seats, we ask that you contact us at email@example.com if you need to change your reservation. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance for a refund.
What to bring: We will be on the water in open sun and it’s easy to dehydrate. Please bring a large bottle of water (required). All the following are optional: windbreaker, binoculars, camera (preferable in a waterproof case), and a towel to dry off if necessary.
What to wear: Shoes that can get wet, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat
Location: Dundee Creek Marina parking lot. The address for your GPS is: 7400 Graces Quarters Rd, Middle River, MD 21220. Please meet us at the picnic tables right next to Eastern Watersports.
