Howard EcoWorks is a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is to empower communities and diverse workforces to respect and restore our natural systems for future generations.

Due to unforeseen weather conditions, our previously scheduled MLK Annual Watershed Makeover event is being combined with Alternative Spring Break. Community members will have the opportunity to provide service to our local environment & neighborhoods through beautification and improvement efforts. Our primary goals will be to:

  • Target trash and debris
  • Remove invasive plant species
  • Tree care

These activities are open to children ages 8 and up. You may bring small children, but they must be supervised by their adult, and keep in mind the work is not appropriate for them.

Howard EcoWorks will provide:

  • Tools and tool training
  • Safety vests
  • And work gloves

We recommend that volunteers bring:

  • Appropriate clothing for the weather and the outdoors
  • Additional working gloves, or child size gloves for young children
  • Closed-toed shoes appropriate for the outdoors. Ideally boots, some areas may be wet and muddy.
  • Your own water and bottle. (The crews will also have water for refilling)

Please do the following to complete this form:

  1. Review the site choices, their times, and dates.
  2. Select your preferred site.
  3. And fill out the volunteer waiver form. Students under 18 not attending with their adult, must still have their guardian complete the waiver.

FORMS WILL BE CLOSED FOR SUBMISSION ON THURSDAY 3/21/24

You can expect a confirmation/ reminder email the weekend prior to Spring Break
