Staff from the Center for Biological Diversity, Upstream Solutions and the Environmental Law Institute will discuss the use of climate plans to build climate-resilient solutions around food systems, reuse/refill solutions, and gender empowerment as a side-event to the Planetary Health Alliance conference.

Cities have been at the forefront of combating the climate crisis through plans that address climate concerns specific to their residents. We’ll discuss how to build climate-resiliency around food systems, reuse /refill solutions, and gender empowerment and share research that summarizes the inclusion of these topics into municipal plans. Participants will leave with resources on why and how to include gender empowerment, food systems and reuse in climate planning and practical policy recommendations to build upon this work.

Discussion participants include:

  • Marcel Howard, Upstream Solutions
  • Stephanie Feldstein, Center for Biological Diversity
  • Kelley Dennings, Center for Biological Diversity
  • Arielle King, Environmental Law Institute
