Come on out to Lucille Brown Middle School to help us maintain a native plant bed! We’ll be planting removing weeds from a native plant bed.

The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay is a regional nonprofit focused on building partnerships, connecting people to the Bay, its rivers, and local watersheds, and healing the land and water through hands-on conservation. They have worked with schools, landowners, municipalities to install stormwater best management practices that reduce the amount of stormwater running off of urban areas and filter out pollutants to improve water quality. Volunteers will help maintenance efforts on these green practices at Lucille Brown Middle School.

Volunteers will learn to identify native plants by removing nondesirable plant species. No experince required. Dress for being outside and walking and bring water and sunscreen/hat. Gloves will be provided but bring gardening or latex gloves if you have them.
