Join Potomac Riverkeeper Network for this special RiverPalooza 2018 Women on the Water (WOW) Paddle Day to help us stand up for clean water! Women have always played a critical role as stewards of our water resources: the Waitaha people of New Zealand—a matriarchal culture dating back over 4,000 years—were known as the original “Water Bearers,” which has become an international movement of women dedicated to improving access to clean water for millions of people.

Enjoy an easy paddle with your Potomac Riverkeeper Network’s new President, Nancy Stoner, and staff member Emily Franc (former Anacostia Riverkeeper) on this wide and lazy stretch of river which is part of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail. This part of the Potomac River is 8 miles of placid, gently flowing currents from Edward’s Ferry all the way down to Seneca Creek Park at Riley’s Lock, making it the perfect stretch for even beginner paddlers.
