The Severn River Association February speaker Richard Klein is the president and principal Community and Environmental Defense Services (CEDS) strategist.  With more than 40 years of experience helping folks throughout the U.S. protect their neighborhoods and the environment, Richard has a unique understanding of how to win land use battles.  This makes it possible for him to quickly identify options for resolving concerns about a variety of neighborhood-environment threats.  Richard has been working with citizen monitoring groups across several counties doing surveys of construction sites and stormwater management facilities over the last decade. He will share with us what he has discovered as well as how we can use volunteers to assist our county with monitoring stormwater practices to help prevent sediment from destroying our streams and river.
