Howard EcoWorks is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that works to empower communities and diverse workforces to respect and restore our natural systems for future generations. We are hosting a biochar burn at Church of the Resurrection, 3175 Paulskirk Dr, in Ellicott City on 2/18 beginning at 11am (rain date 2/25). The burn is expected to last for 2-3 hours.
Volunteers are invited to participate in the burn and learn more about the environmental benefits of biochar – volunteers can also take some biochar home with them for their own gardens! Volunteer activities include using hand saws, loppers and pruners to cut woody material to size for the burn. Supervised children and families are welcome! This event is made possible by an Innovation Grant from Howard County Government.
