Scenic Rivers Land Trust’s “Walk for the Woods” is back in 2022!

Walk for the Woods is a day of guided hikes and educational activities at the beautiful, permanently protected Bacon Ridge Natural Area in Crownsville, MD.

Expert-led guided hikes will include bird watching, amphibian searches, naturalist hikes, and more!

Attendees are also invited to explore the permanently protected Bacon Ridge Natural Area’s 1000+ acres of woodlands, wetlands, streams, and meadows on their own. Access to the event is via Farm Road (not usually open to the public).

A self-led hike option will also be offered, complete with trail map and educational signage posted along the trails.

Hikes range from 1 to 4 miles, vary in degree of difficulty, and are on marked trails.

Registration for guided hikes will open approximately three weeks before the event date.

The hike schedule and registration link will be announced via Scenic Rivers’ email newsletter and social media and will be accessible via this page:
