Celebrate the first Anne Arundel County River Days festival of the year, at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center! Join us for a half-day of nature-themed fun on and beside Maryland’s Rhode River, with SERC and county staff. Activities include:
- Hay rides
- Boat rides
- Hands-on activities with SERC scientists and educators
- Live turtle talks with SERC educators
- 1735 Woodlawn History Center exhibits (live talk with archaeologist Jim Gibb at 2pm; advance signup required)
- Live music
- Food trucks
Boat ride signups are available at the event on a first-come, first-served basis, with signups opening shortly before each departure. (View the boat schedule here.) This is the first of four River Days festivals held this year at various locations throughout the county, organized by the Anne Arundel County Executive’s Office. All activities are free except purchases from food trucks.
