Mallows Bay-Potomac River National Marine Sanctuary is hosting a BioBlitz! Join us on September 9th, 2023 to learn about the biodiversity in the sanctuary and look for seasonal differences in the species encountered. A BioBlitz is a free event where participants collect as many species observations as possible. By participating, you’ll help scientists collect valuable biodiversity information and learn more about Mallows Bay!

You’re invited to join in this free event and collect species observations while learning about Mallows Bay. Anyone with a cellphone camera and the free iNaturalist app can participate. You’ll be able to explore on your own, or join us for activities throughout the day like a guided bird-watching hike or seining for aquatic organisms. All ages are welcome.
